What is the Simply 3D 3.1 Update Patch?

The Simply 3D 3.1 Update Patch is a self-extracting file named S3D31patch.EXEthat updates Simply3D 
version 3 to Simply3D version 3.1. To use the patch, you must have the English version of Simply3D 3 
installed on your computer.

The patch does not work with:

    * The downloadable trial version.
    * Simply3D version 2.
    * Non-English versions of Simply3D 3.

What does this patch change?

The patch resolves various issues discovered after product release, including:

    * Corrects overall application-stability problems experienced on certain systems.
    * Enhances the file browser under Windows 98.
    * Corrects some problems with lighting, ray-trace reflection, and morphing in saved files.

Updated help for Simply3D is also available, as a separate 3.4MB download.The updated help corrects many 
	errors in the original help and includes updated Show Me instructional videos.
How do I find out which version of Simply3D I have?

   1. Start Simply3D.
   2. On the Help menu, click About Simply3D. If the displayed Version number is 3.0, you may install 
	the patch.

How do I install the patch?

   1. To start the download, click the "Download the patch now" link below. After you confirm the request, 
	your browser will prompt you to either "Save it to disk" or "Open it."
   2. Select the Save option, and save the patch to any folder on your hard drive.
   3. When the download is complete, exit your web browser and perform the following two steps.
   4. Use the Windows Explorer to locate the downloaded file.
   5. Double-click the filename, and follow the instructions that appear for completing the installation.

How do I install the updated Help?

   1. To start the download, click the "Download the updated Help now" link below. After you confirm the 
	request, your browser will prompt you to either "Save it to disk" or "Open it."
   2. Select the Save option, and save the file to your Simply3D 3 folder (for example, 
	C:\Program Files\Micrografx\Simply 3D 3).
   3. When the download is complete, use the Windows Explorer to locate the downloaded file.
   4. Double-click the filename to extract the updated Help files. The next time you start Simply3D, 
	the updated help will be available.
